A Crusheen woman is helping shine a light on the hidden psychological impact of living with Crohn’s disease as part of a new national awareness campaign.
Sarah O’Connor is featured in ‘The Hidden Voices of Crohn’s and Colitis’, launched this week by Crohn’s & Colitis Ireland and Johnson & Johnson, highlighting the need for greater mental health support for people living with inflammatory bowel disease.
The campaign is calling for every specialist IBD clinic in Ireland to have a dedicated clinical psychologist as part of its healthcare team.
To tell us more about her own experience, her involvement in the campaign and why this support is so important, Derrick Lynch was delighted to be joined by Sarah O’Connor.
