On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan took a trip to the Gentian Press which is located in Lisdoonvarna. Alan stepped through the doors of Conor Bourke’s industrial unit which is home to a large collection of printing presses from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Conor, who is the man behind the Gentian Press discussed when and where he first grew an interest in the printing press. He spoke about the growing popularity of the letter press in both the UK and Europe. He described the process of the way in which the printing press works. Conor also discussed his recent meeting with Failte Ireland and the possibility of bringing students to visit his industrial unit in the future.
