Planned surgeries are to resume at all hospitals in the University of Limerick group this morning -following two days of cancellations.
Elective procedures were postponed earlier this week due to the high number of patients attending the emergency department at University Hospital Limerick.
450 patients in the region have had their surgery cancelled since the beginning of the year. The government insists it will take steps to deal with overcrowding in University Hospital Limerick.
In the Dáil on Wednesday, Sinn Féin accused the coalition of being delusional about their handling of the issue.
