On Monday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Johnny Casey of the Inagh River Catchment Association. Johnny reacted to a recent meeting which looked to try and formulate what steps the local community can take to help restore the Ballymacraven River in Ennistymon. This is following a major fish kill in the river earlier this month. He described the major impact of the fishkill which he believes is one of the worst in the history of the Shannon region. Johnny believes that it may take decades to recover from this while investigations are ongoing to find out exactly how this occurred.
