On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Councillor Pat O’Gorman who is a Cratloe based Fianna Fáil Councillor and Councillor John Crowe who is a Sixmilebridge based Fine Gael Councillor. The pair discussed the recent Clare County Council meeting which called for the Government to provide additional funding in order to combat the issue of illegal dumping and fly tipping. Pat mentioned the fact that there has been no further guidance given by the Government regarding putting CCTV cameras in place to stop dumping from occurring. John made reference the the major issue of dumping in County Clare and the way in which it effects green areas throughout the county. The pair believe that the Government and local county councils need to make a joint effort to help combat the issue.
