Leaving Kiwi Life Behind To Farm Seaweed On Inis Mór

Like many young people, Jenny O’Halloran took off for pastures anew and headed for New Zealand a number of years ago.

Life was good on the other side of the world; she married and had a young daughter there.

But one day, the phone rang and her father back in Ireland, who had set up a seaweed harvesting business back in 2002, told her he wanted to retire.

So he left it up to his daughter – did she want to come home and take over the small but busy farm on Inis Mór, or stay in New Zealand indefinitely?
