Learning Irish Without The Baggage

2018 is ‘Bliain na Gaeilge’ and ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ is just around the corner.

Pól Ó Murchú, author of A Grammar of Modern Irish, is an American grammarian and translator, who first started learning Irish while he was an undergrad at the University of California, Berkeley. While studying there, he became interested in Irish after coming across ‘Buntús Cainte’ in the university’s language lab.

In 1998, he got accepted to the National University of Ireland, Galway, and earned a Master’s Degree in Irish in 2002.
