On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by Tony Duffin, CEO of Ana Liffey Drug Project.
Today is international Overdose Awareness Day.
It is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember without stigma those who have died from overdose, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.
The theme for this year’s International Overdose Awareness Day is “Recognising Those People Who Go Unseen”.
Tony described what this year’s theme means and represents, and also highlighted that 409 people had unfortunately overdosed in 2020.
He spoke about the importance of raising awareness on the difficult subject and outlined the services that Ana Liffey Drug Project provide.
Tony explained that if you have been affected by an overdose and need or want support you can visit www.drugs.ie.
