HSE Publishes Winter Plan For Irish Hospitals

Today on Morning Focus, Senator Martin Conway, Fine Gael, Ennistymon, joined us in studio following the publication of the HSE’s Winter Plan for Irish hospitals.

The HSE isn’t investing in any extra acute beds in hospitals this winter and much of its 26 million euro plan for the season will be spent on home care packages and moving people out of hospitals. The measures are aimed at avoiding overcrowding – 679 people were waiting on trolleys on one day last week, the highest this year.
