Getting Clare’s Covid-19 Cases Under Control

There are growing concerns that Clare will be moved to level three of restrictions due to the rising number of cases in the county. Across Clare, there were 70.7 cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people, up until midnight on Wednesday, though more recent data from the HSE MidWest puts the figure at around 77.

The Director of Public Health with HSE Midwest, Dr. Mai Mannix says the vast majority of cases in this county are linked with household transmission, with one household gathering in Clare sparking around twenty associated cases.

On Friday’s Morning Focus, Dr. Mannix told Gavin Grace, that it’s inevitable we’ll end up with tighter restrictions unless action is taken now to suppress the virus.
