Rural areas of County Clare are actively cultivating a solid environment for innovation and start-up businesses.

Clare County Council’s Rural Development Strategy 2030 aims to unlock the potential of rural communities by creating jobs, improving vital connectivity and supporting multi-service centres and social enterprises.

People have moved from large urban areas and even from other countries to rural Clare to work or start businesses.

Adam Coleman began his career in recruitment in the UK and Ireland, and was part of the startup team at Esat Digifone as HR Manager.

He moved back to Ireland from the UK for family reasons and settled in Lahinch in North Clare.

Despite having three different job offers, he decided instead to establish his own business in Lahinch. He believes you can set up a business not just in rural Clare, but anywhere, if you have the necessary infrastructure.

Adam Coleman former CEO of HRLocker and founder of HR Interventions.

This feature, ‘The Future of Work’  is funded by the News Reporting Scheme.
