On this final podcast of the year here on Farm Focus, we take a look back at a difficult 2019 for farmers.
The past 12 months have seen beef prices plummet, Brexit uncertainty deepen, farmers mount protests, the Beef Market Taskforce form and still, there remains no certainty heading into 2020.
In Part 2 of this week’s programme, we hear from four Clare farmers who are heading up their various organisations.
Firstly, Willie Hanrahan of the IFA (from 7:04), followed by the ICMSA’s Martin McMahon (9:23).
Joseph Woulfe of the Beef Plan Movement also shares his analysis (11:45), as does the ICSA’s General Secretary Eddie Punch (14:52).
Also on this week’s podcast, Paul Mullins from Teagasc has an insight into water quality in Co. Clare (from 1:15).
