Ennistymon Public Consultation Package

A public consultation took place at the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon last night ahead of the publication of the Cliffs Of Moher 2040 Strategy.

The draft strategy, published last month, envisages the creation of 300 new jobs in the region by 2040 as well as an addition of €36m per annum to the local economy in the same timeframe.

The strategy is hoping to reduce the burden of traffic congestion and tourist footfall on the host community , by creating a more sustainable slow tourism model.

However a number of concerned locals felt the plans on the table completely alienated their communities key issues of road safety, business activity and their own congestion by developing an enhanced experience at the cliffs at their expense.
