“Economic disaster” for region if Aer Lingus pull transatlantic routes from Shannon

The Aviation Taskforce published their final report for the recovery of the sector in July of this year, in which they made a number of recommendations as to necessary measures needed to support the sector as we come to grips with this pandemic. Following rumours that Aer Lingus may remove transatlantic services from Shannon Airport and relocate them to bases in the UK, Shannon Group has called for the findings of this report to be implemented urgently. However, members of the taskforce say they are angry at the inaction in relation to their findings, following the time pressure they were placed under to complete it.
