On Monday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Gavin Sheehan who is currently undertaking the ‘Kayak For Cancer 2023’ source-to-sea expedition in an attempt to raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society. Gavin described the journey to date which began on Sunday 2nd of April from Shannon Pot in County Cavan. He mentioned the connection that he has with the Irish Cancer Society following the passing of his late aunt from breast cancer in 2021. He spoke about his love for kayaking and taking on the challenge at hand which came to his mind last summer. Gavin also highlighted his aim to finish the expedition by arriving in Kilrush next Sunday.
