Doolin Coastguard Has Ceased Operations With Immediate Effect

There are calls for the Transport Minister to intervene in a dispute that sees members of the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard no longer allowed to respond to emergencies.

It follows a decision by the body to take the North Clare unit ‘off the board.’

The decision comes after 6 of the 18 volunteers announced their resignation from the unit at the weekend.
