Cybersafe Ireland Research Shows Young Children Talk To strangers Online Regularly

We spoke with Alex Cooney from Cybersafe Ireland about new research which shows that 25% of 8 and nine-ear-olds talk to strangers on-line at least once a week.

According to Cybersafe Ireland, the majority of Irish children have their own phone and use social media. The issue has entered the school environment in recent years meaning that two thirds of teachers have to tackle incidents relating to online safety.
