Cois Na hAbhna Celebrates 40 Years Of Music, Song And Dance This Weekend

On Thursday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined live in studio by Frank Whelan who is the Chairman of the Board of Management of Cois na hAbhna. Frank previewed the upcoming landmark event which will take place this St Patrick’s Day in order to mark the 40th anniversary of the official opening of Cois Na hAbhna cultural centre on the Gort Road in Ennis. He described the opening of the venue on the 17th of March 1983 along with highlighting the level of fundraising and voluntary labour that went in to constructing the iconic building. He praised the venue which is known by many as the best dancing floor in the country and made reference to the pride he feels in the way the centre represents the county. Frank looked ahead to the 40th anniversary celebration concert which will include music that tells the story Cois Na hAbhna down through the years.
The concert is set to take place at 8pm on Friday the 17th of March at 8pm in Cois Na hAbhna. It can also be live streamed online via the Cois Na hAbhna website.
