Clare’s Progress in Fighting The Virus

On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Gavin Grace spoke to Maria Bridgeman, HSE Midwest Chief Officer about the new Covid-19 testing centre in Clare and about our progress in fighting the spread of the virus.

A new Covid-19 testing centre opened in Ballymaley today. The testing centre at Cusack Park has remained open until now, but will now cease operations in this capacity. The new centre in Ballymaley will have 6 drive through lanes and one walk through lane when opened. This centre can accommodate up to 700 tests per day when fully operational.

Clare were also praised for our efforts to halt the spread of Covid-19. After a recent significant spike in cases of the virus, there have only been two days in which more than ten COVID cases have been recorded in Clare on any given day this month.
