On Friday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Councillor Liam Grant who is a Green Party Councillor for Ennistymon Electoral area from Lahinch. Liam discussed the recent positive news which revealed that County Clare is set to become the first county in the country to provide lifeguards at beaches in the month of May. Beginning this weekend, a number of lifeguards will be present at beaches in Lahinch and Spanish Point. Fanore and Kilkee are set to follow suit the weekend after. Liam stated that this is massive progression for water safety in the county during water safety awareness month and hopes that this news will attract more surfers and swimmers to the area.
