Aoife Murray, from Sixmilebridge, was the Clare Rose of Tralee representative in 2017.
She has returned from Chernobyl, where she visited the Vesnova orphanage set up in the aftermath of the 1985 disaster.
The visit had a profound effect on her, and in advance of her trip she raised over 3,000 euro for the orphanage, as well as bringing much-needed medical supplies.
