Clare Man John Conroy Talks to Morning Focus About His Work In Uganda

Alan Morrissey recently spoke to John Conroy who is currently in Uganda. The Clare man is on a volunteering trip, where he is providing therapy to children with special needs in various clinics in the southern Ugandan town of Jinja, near the capital, Kampala.
John, who first began volunteering to Africa 15 years ago, concentrating on Uganda in 2009, plans to remain until the end of August. John managed to raise almost €21,200 prior to leaving with all funds going direct into assisting children return to school after a two-year absence due to COVID.
As John will outline, Clare donors have raised around €156,000 for charities in Uganda since 2017.
