On Wednesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined live in studio by Clare and Éire Óg senior footballer, Ikem Ugwueru. Ikem who is currently part of Supervalu’s ‘Community Includes Everyone’ campaign focused in on a recent incident in inter-county GAA, whereby Wexford hurler Lee Chin was subject to racist abuse by a spectator at an inter county challenge match. He raised awareness surrounding abuse in our national game and is confident that we can work together as one to eliminate any future instances of such from occurring. Ikem paid tribute to his local club Éire Óg GAA in Ennis, who have inspired and assisted him to become the footballer he is today. He also turned attention to his next important upcoming fixture against All Ireland champions Kerry in the Munster Football Final.
