Clare FM Documentary ‘Falsely Accused’ Wins Gold At New York Radio Awards

The New York Radio Awards Took Place with Clare FM being represented by Clare FM’s Programming Director Padraic Flaherty’s ‘Falsely Accused’ Documentary. The documentary is based on the life of Bernárd Lynch, a native of Ennis who joined the Society of African Missions order in the 70s and helped sick men that were dying from AIDS and campaigned for LGBT rights. The documentary beat off competition from BBC Radio, Virgin Radio UK, Newstalk and Aljazeera Media Network to win the gold award in the ‘Social Issues’ category for the world’s best documentary. Alan was joined by Producer of ‘Falsely Accused’ and Clare FM’s Programming Director Padraic Flaherty along with Bernard Lynch who is the subject of the documentary. Padraic discussed his delight at ‘Falsely Accused’ winning the gold award in the ‘Social Issues’ category for the world’s best documentary at the New York Radio Awards last night. Padraic spoke about the importance of highlighting Bernard’s story. Bernard congratulated Padraic on his success and thanked him for helping to document his story.
