Clare FM Catch-Up: Protests In The U.S., Racism In Ireland

George Floyd

On a nightly basis, crowds have been taking to the streets of various US cities, with anger over the death of George Floyd, a black man in police custody showing no sign of dissipating.

There were more violent clashes last night in cities including New York, where we began Wednesday’s edition of Morning Focus.

Ennisman Colm Flynn is working in the media in the US – he’s living in Brooklyn, and was there when he spoke with Gavin on Tuesday afternoon.

Then (from 10:42) we discussed racism closer to home, as Gavin was joined by two members of the Nigerian community from Ennis – Abi Ladigbolu and Victoria Olukitibi.
