Declan McEvoy from Quin became a Guinness World Record holder after riding the entire length of the frozen Lake Baikal on his motorbike in March of this year. However, the covid-19 pandemic didn’t suit the adventure addict. So, he and his wife Jacinta set challenges for themselves throughout the pandemic – firstly walking from the prom at Salthill to the Forty Foot in Dublin, which took 11 days. The second was cycling from Mizen Head to Malin head in 8 days. Looking to do something once inter-county travel was allowed again, they’ve decided to set themselves another challenge and this time raise money for charity at the same time. On Monday Declan and Jacinta will be cycling from Salthill to the Forty Foot in 1 day – making sure to take a dip in both places too! They are raising funds for the Simon Community.
