On Monday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined live in studio by Theresa O’Donohue who is a Lisdoonvarna-based Climate Activist, trained mediator, sustainable community development facilitator and author. Theresa discussed the launch of her new book called ‘Ireland At The Crossroads: Lisdoonvarna, Direct Provision and the Far Right. She spoke about writing the book in 2019 in which she traces the ways in which the far-right co-opted legitimate concerns about a lack of consultation over the opening of a direct provision centre in Lisdoonvarna in 2018, the housing crisis, covid-denial and patriotism. She also highlighted her key role in facilitating a community response to the opening of the Direct Provision Centre in Lisdoonvarna.
The book is set to be launched this Friday 28th of April at 7pm in the Ennis Women’s Shed, Unit 7, Tracklands Business Park, Ennis, Co. Clare.
