On Monday’s Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined by Carine O’Loughlin.
The Kilnaboy native is dealing with an ongoing battle with osteosarcoma, which is a cancer of the bone. This battle, which has been waged on and off over the last decade or so has resulted in Carine undergoing two amputations.
The cancer has unfortunately now returned, but, , surgery is not an option. Carine’s doctors believe cell immunotherapy is the best course of action for her.
However, cell immunotherapy comes at a hefty price. With that in mind, her sister-in-law has set up a gofundme page to try and raise the significant amount that is needed.
Carine is inviting listeners to light a candle on the 20th of September as she begins her chemotherapy.
