Car Pooling A Possible Solution To Rural Transport Issues

Moves are underway to explore the setting up of a car-share system for rural Clare, so that people can pool together to get to work or the pub where there’s no public transport.

Clare County Council is seeking expressions of interest from firms to develop an app called CarShareIT, which acts like a rural Uber system.

It would link up people who have no means of transport with those who are willing to give people lifts and is being part-funded by Enterprise Ireland and also backed by Jaguar Land Rover.
