Due to funding shortfall, the redevelopment of Lahinch Leisure World now does not include a shallow heated pool for small children – despite the council plans illustrating such.

The board of Leisure World and local councillors have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to progress this development – but they are limited by the funding they have to work with. The project agent (Tomás McKenna Engineers) has estimated an additional budget of €200k would be needed to include this facility.

Local resident, parent and user of Lahinch Leisureworld Alan Davis has set up a petition which has garnered over 100 signatures from the community in the past four days. He believes the additional funds needed to include the kids pool could be sourced from government funding if there is substantial public support.
