Callout For Banner Entries For 2019 Women In Farming Awards

The Corrib Oil 2019 Women in Farming Awards are just around the corner now.

With a €1,000 prize, it’s certainly a worthwhile venture but the main aim behind it is to encourage more women into the agriculture sector and show young girls that they are more than capable of working in a male-dominated industry.

Last year’s winner Mona O’Donoghue-Concannon is on this week’s podcast (from 7:51) to tell us more.

Also this week, Pat Tuohy from Teagasc in Fermoy is talking drainage (from 1:00) and we hear from Tom Lane, Clare IFA’s Livestock Chair, about their meeting discussing what’s next in terms of the €100 million government and EU-backed support fund for the beef sector (13:54)
