On Monday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined live in studio by Birgitta Hedin Curtin of the Burren Smokehouse based in Lisdoonvarna along with June Curtin who set up sea-swimming group Snámhaí Sásta in order to help boost the wellness of people in the community. They discussed the eagerly anticipated Burren Slow Food Festival which will take place on Sunday 21st of May. The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Wellbeing and Gut Health’. Birgitta spoke about the history of the festival which originated in 2005 and raised attention to this year’s theme which ties in with Burren Wellness Month. June emphasized the importance of mental health and wellness while looking ahead to the festival.
