Annual Celebration Of The Biodiversity Of The Burren To Take Place In May

On Tuesday’s Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Pranjali Bhave of Burrenbeo Trust, Seán Ronayne who is an ornithologist and Jesmond Harding who is a butterfly expert and author. Pranjali looked ahead to the upcoming annual celebration of the biodiversity of the Burren which will be celebrated over the course of May. She discussed ‘Burren In Bloom’ and the wide variety events that will be held to mark the celebration. She noted that a different aspect of biodiversity will be highlighted each weekend. Seán spoke about his career as an ornithologist, where he specialises in recording and studying bird sounds. He looked ahead to his ‘Wild Irish Wildlife Sounds’ event which will be held in May as part of Burren in Bloom. Jesmond discussed his love for the Burren and his fascination with what the Burren has to offer. He will be holding a number of butterfly walks in the Burren also throughout the course of the month.
