Paul Ellingstad is a founder member and coordinator of Circular Clarecastle.

He explained to Pat Flynn, what the Circular Economy is and what he and his colleagues in Circular Clarecastle are doing.

*Next week we’ll hear from two local business who were early adopters of the Circular Economy practice.

Tips:

* Sustainability is much more than being ‘green’. It all started with the ‘green’ concept but what’s needed today to ensure the future of the planet is for everyone to concentrate on sustainability and the circular economy.

* Circular Clarecastle began with the basics but the volunteers have moved beyond just being about recycling.

* Moving from ‘Green’ to ‘Circular’ is like the ‘crawl, walk, run’ analogy. It’s a step-by-step process.

* To encourage people to embrace the Circular Economy concept, show them the early adopters and what and how they are doing. Don’t wag the finger and tell them what they should be doing, show them and explain instead.
