Anthony (Tony/Sananda) O’ Connell
Cahermacateer, Corofin, formerly of Abbey St, Ennis and Charleville, Cork.
Tony departed peacefully on March 5th, 2025, surrounded by his cherished loved ones at Cork University Hospital.
Predeceased by his dear parents, Gerald & Sheila and his brother Patrick.
Tony, beloved husband and best friend of Mike Biggane, (Charleville, Co. Cork), leaves behind a heartbroken family: brothers Gerry and Daniel, sisters Lucy (O’Dowd), Ursula (Tuohy) and Bernie (O’Brien). His loving presence will also be forever missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours, and his many close friends from the UK, Ananda Italy, Ireland and beyond.
Tony’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to acknowledge the incredible care provided by the teams at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin and ward 1B at Cork University Hospital.

Reposing at Kennedy’s Funeral Home (V95 HE36), Ennis, on Friday (7th March) from 5.30 pm with removal at 7.30 pm to Ennis Cathedral.
Funeral Mass Saturday (8th March) at 10 am, followed by cremation service in Shannon Crematorium at 12 noon.
Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Focus Ireland.
