He is survived by his beloved wife Maeve, brother David and his wife Maeve, sister Mairéad and her husband Michael Joe, his five children, his son-in-law, and two grandchildren.

Anthony was predeceased by his parents James and Peggy (née Cody) and his infant daughter Sarah.

A true Irishman, Tony was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1952.

After attending school in Ennis, Co. Clare, Tony went on to UCD, Dublin where he received his Mechanical Engineering degree in 1973.

After working in Shannon and South Africa, Tony emigrated to Calgary, Alberta in 1976.

Tony met his future wife Maeve in 1980 at the Calgary Canadian Irish Athletic Club (CCIAC) where he played rugby for many years.

In 1983, Tony completed his MBA at the University of Western Ontario.

Tony enjoyed his experiences working in the Oil and Gas industry in Calgary and was very proud to have been made a lifetime APEGA member.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Tony was a dedicated member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul initially at St. Patrick’s Parish and later as President of the Western Canada Region.

Tony was an avid sportsman enjoying cross country running, hurling, squash, rugby, skiing, cycling and golf.

Tony also loved to sing. Many enjoyed his rendition of Percy French’s ‘Are Ye Right there Michael’.

Funeral Arrangements: Arriving to Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co. Clare on Thursday (2nd May) for Funeral Mass at 11 am.

Burial afterwards in Lemenagh Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Anthony’s name.
