A young mother is expressing concerns about the ongoing ‘do not consume notice’ to around 7,500 Irish Water customers in South East Clare.
Residents in parts of Cratloe, Sixmilebridge, Kilmurry, Kilkishen and Quin are now entering their fourth day unable to use supply, with the utility warning the issue could remain ongoing until at least the end of the week.
Fiona McMahon’s parents live in Kilkishen and she stayed there with her 7 month old son over the weekend, making bottles for him as she did so and was not aware of the notice until Sunday evening.
She says she’s concerned about the potential consumption of water containing manganese, which the utility says should not be done.
