Young Fine Gael President rules himself out of contention for council seat

 

 

Young Fine Gael President and Clare Native Eric Keane has ruled himself out as a possible candidate to be co-opted onto Clare County Council.

Mr Keane who from the Ballyvaughan/New Quay area was among the names mooted to replace one of the two newly elected Senators Martin Conway and Tony Mulcahy on the local authority.

Speaking to Clare FM the north Clare man who practices law in Dublin says he thought seriously about the possibility of putting himself forward but has now ruled that out due to other commitments.

Yesterday Shannon Town Councillor and former mayor Sean McLoughlin confirmed that he’s seeking to be co-opted onto Tony Mulcahy’s seat on Clare County Council.
