Two investigations are underway after a young boy was killed in a farm accident in Mayo last night.
The boy – understood to be four years old – was reportedly hit by a tractor at about 8.30 last evening on a farm at Ballinaboy, Belmullet.

He was rushed to Belmullet District Hospital – where he was pronounced dead.
A post mortem will be carried out today at Castlebar Hospital.
The scene has been preserved and the Gardaí and Health and Safety Authority have both launched investigations.
