Clare’s Sinn Féin TD has issued a public apology in the wake of controversial remarks that she made on Facebook.
Speaking on Facebook, in the comments section of a Clare FM article that was posted on Friday, Violet-Anne Wynne made a series of statements, including that commenters were “moaning” and another in which she referred to former TDs Pat Breen and Timmy Dooley as “Prat Breen” and “Timmy Do Nothing.”

The remarks provoked a series of criticisms against Ms. Wynne, who has today issued an apology for “causing offence.”
