Upgrade works to lengthen the slip roads at the M18 Ennis exits have moved to the planning stage.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland has confirmed the completed design has been handed over to Clare County Council for Part 8 planning

TII says the works at Junction 12 and 13 of the motorway could be ready for construction within the next 12 to 24 months, subject to the planning process.
The matter was raised at the Oireachtas Transport Committee by Meelick Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe, who also criticised TII over continued resistance to safety interventions at the nearby N68 junction at Darragh.
Head of Road Safety at Transport Infrastructure Ireland, Alastair De Beer told the committee there has been issues with the design of works on the M18.
