Around 140 workers at a Shannon-based engineering company are to share in a 1.2 million euro bonanza.

Mincon founder Paddy Purcell, and the company’s fellow major shareholder Kevin Barry are investing their own money in the ’employee recognition plan’ after the firm was listed on the Dublin and London stock exchanges last year.
Staff will receive a payment of 1000 euro for each year of service.
Mincon was founded in 1977, and a product manufactured by the rock-drilling firm payed a crucial role in the rescue of 33 trapped miners in Chile three years ago.
