Work is due to get under way this week on a long awaited playground in South East Clare.

€92,500 was allocated from the Hinterland fund six years ago and was matched by Clare County Council to invest in the development of recreational facilities on the Limerick border.

Following delays in site selection and changes in the committee, a lease and right of way has now been secured at the Seanchoil Sports Complex in Parteen to develop the playground.

The playground committee have engaged in a tendering process and appointed a contractor and it’s anticipated that work will get under way this week.
