The death of 42 year old Margaret Seery in a Dublin flat was not treated as suspicious in 1994, and an inquest found that she had choked to death.
However in recent months Gardaí received new information about the circumstances of her case.
Ms Seery's remains will be removed from a graveyard this morning and transferred to University Hospital Limerick for a post mortem examination.
