Nicole Keane suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest in the alleged assault which occured on the grounds of the Holy Family School on the afternoon of Saturday April 13th.

At Ennis Circuit Court yesterday, Charlene Sherlock of Dromard on the Lahinch Road pleaded guilty to two charges arising out of the crime – one of intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to the 23-year-old Ms Keane, and another of producing a steak knife at the school on the day in question.

Ms. Sherlock remains in custody as she has been unable to take up bail, and in court, her legel counsel Michael Collins applied for the extension of legal aid to cover psychiatric reports before the sentencing in the case proceeds.

Judge Gerald Keyes remanded her in custody until the 25th of next month when sentencing may take place if those reports are completed.
