A 49-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car in County Mayo overnight.

It happened at around 3am on the N60, Castlebar-Claremorris Road, near Breaffy Village.
She was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar where she was later pronounced dead.
The scene is preserved and the road is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealling for anyone who was travelling on the N60 near Breaffy Village between 2.45am and 3am to contact them at Castlebar Garda Station.
