A Garda investigation is underway, after a woman in her 20’s was assaulted in broad daylight in Ennis.
The incident happened in the Clonroad more area last Thursday morning.
Shortly after 11 o’clock last Thursday morning, a woman in her 20’s was walking with another woman along Tobartaiscain in the direction Centra, when she noticed a man following her.
The man has been described as wearing shorts, no top, with a scarf wrapped around his face.
It’s understood that as the woman walked onto Clonroadmore, the man grabbed her and after both women screamed, he let go.
The man fled the scene on foot and returned a short time later walking in the direction of Ennis town wearing a black t-shirt, shorts and he still had a scarf around his face.
Gardaí say this description is very distinctive and they’re appealing to anyone who may have observed this assault or observed this man in the Tobertaiscain or Clonroadmore or Ennis town areas on Thursday to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 68 48 100.
