Crew on board a jet2.com fligfht from Tenerife to Newcastle reported that a passenger was disruptive and intoxicated and a woman was removed from the plane when it touched down at the Mid-West Airport.
The 42-year-old was subsequently arrested and taken to Shannon Garda Station but was later released without charge and a file has been sent to the DPP.
It's reported that the female passenger has since been billed the 6,800 pound cost of the diversion as well as being given a lifetime ban by the airline.
