Woman Dies In Limerick Fire

A post-mortem will be carried out later today on the body of a woman who died in a house fire in Limerick.

The body of the mother of two, who lived at Daly's Avenue in the city, was discovered in an upstairs bedroom by firemen who were alerted to the blaze at around half eleven last night.

The 40 year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene – her body was removed to University Hospital Limerick.

Gardai are carrying out a technical and forensic examination to determine the cause of the blaze – but say they do not believe it is suspicious.
