Woman Arrested, €900,000 Worth Of Cannabis Uncovered In East Clare

Gardaí have uncovered what’s described as a large-scale cannabis grow house during the search of a premises in East Clare.

The significant discovery was made by Clare Gardaí today, whose Divisional Drugs Unit was supported by local uniform and plainclothes Gardaí, the Western Region Armed Support Unit and the Cork Garda Dog Unit.

As part of an intelligence-led operation, the search is continuing at Tinarana near Killaloe.

There, a significant grow house has been found, with evidence of the production of Cannabis at various stages, including nursery and mature plants as well as dried plants.

The haul is estimated to be worth €900,000.

A woman in her early-20s who is not Irish has been arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Ennis Garda Station under section 4 Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The search and investigations continue.
